Emergency Binder Lite
Fill in the five pages your family would need first, right in your browser, then print them or save them as a PDF. No account, no upload.
Private by design. Everything you type stays in this browser on this device. Write where passwords and codes are kept, never the passwords themselves. This is an organizer, not legal, tax or medical advice.
How it works
- Go through the five sections on the left. Skip anything that does not apply.
- Choose Print or save as PDF. In the print window, pick "Save as PDF" to keep a copy, or print it for a 3-ring binder. Blank lines stay blank so you can finish by hand.
- Tell one trusted person where the binder is kept.
What the full Paper Trail adds
- All 22 sections, including key people and roles, medications, banks, retirement accounts, insurance, bills and autopay, digital life, subscriptions, pets, final wishes, messages to loved ones and an update log
- A guided builder with progress tracking, plus a 24-page printable binder PDF
- An encrypted copy for one trusted person, created on your device and opened with a passphrase only the two of you know
- The "Next 30 to 90 Days" list for your family. Instant download, nothing ships.
Frequently asked questions
Is my information uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything you type stays in your browser on this device. The tool does not send your answers to a server, and there is no account.
Can I save my work and come back?
Your answers are saved automatically in this browser on this device. You can also save a progress file and open it later or on another device. On a shared or public computer, choose Clear everything when you are done.
Can I move to the full Paper Trail later?
Yes. Save a progress file here and open it in The Paper Trail builder. It uses the same section layout, so your answers carry over.
Should I type passwords into it?
No. Write where passwords and codes can be found, never the passwords themselves.
